David Feingold joined Blue Ridge Public Radio as General Manager in July, 2015, after 16-years at NET – Nebraska’s state-wide public radio and television networks – where he was the senior manager for content. A native of Brooklyn, NY (as he says “before it was cool”), he spent the first part of his career in public radio station news departments in the Midwest before heading East for a move to television. At CNN he held several positions, including National Editor and London Bureau Chief. After 10 years in the UK, David decided it was time to repatriate to the States. He joined NET as the executive in charge of radio and television programming and the production of news, sports, documentaries, and specials. The new opportunity at BPR resonated with David’s commitment to independent journalism and community engagement. Now, as he travels around WNC, he often hears WCQS and BPR News described a connectors of communities and the people that care about them. He can’t think of a more fitting way to describe Blue Ridge Public Radio - NPR for Western North Carolina. David and his wife, Ellen, actively participate in the many cultural, culinary, and outdoor experiences that are abundant in WNC. He was elected to the Board of Directors of the Asheville Art Association in January, 2017.
