Ana Lucia Murillo

Ana Lucia was born and raised in Chicago and its near suburbs. She developed a love of travel at a young age, visiting her family in New York and Mexico during school breaks.

In 2010 she moved east. She graduated from Amherst College in Massachusetts in 2014 after majoring in Sociology and Latin American/Latino Studies.

Before coming to WFAE, Ana Lucia interned and worked at NPR in Washington D.C. There she cemented her love for radio storytelling. She interned with the Diversity Department, where she helped get a broader range of voices on NPR’s airwaves, and then made her way to the Newscast Unit where she was an Associate Producer and Editor.

Ana Lucia enjoys exploring new cities, meeting new people and animals, and going to concerts.
